UPDATE****
04/29/23
After visiting the fields several
times throughout the day in addition
to reviewing the projected forecast
for tomorrow, we have made the
difficult decision to cancel this
tournament. Attached are some
pictures of the fields as of 4:45pm
today and there was still a light
drizzle falling. I could not even
walk on the infields without sinking
in.
There
are many factors as to why we
are making this call now instead
of waiting until 6am tomorrow
morning (most importantly umpire
schedules and staffing as Sunday
was going to be a different schedule
then originally planned).
04/28/23
Games for Saturday will be cancelled,
but we will not yet cancel the
entire tournament. We
will reassess the field conditions
and weather forecast tomorrow
in hopes that we can play a one-day
tournament on Sunday. If it happens
what will that look like? We will
play the entire Saturday pool
schedule and then the top 2 teams
in each bracket will qualify to
play in a Championship game.
There
is a strong possibility Sunday
is also a rainout, but as of now
we will hold out hope. Additional
updates coming tomorrow.
04/27/23
We are still waiting it out and
plan to run the tournament as
scheduled. The weekend weather
forecast is not looking promising.
Further updates will come on Friday
evening when we have a better
idea what the weekend forecast
and field conditions will look
like.
We
have a terrific facility with
a very hard working staff and
we are dedicated to running this
tournament as scheduled, but the
weather can often take it out
of our control.
